Maria Dolors Laffitte i Masjoan was an outstanding Catalan singer. As a young woman she worked in a factory and went to a nun school in Manlleu.
She sang for the first time in Manlleu at the age of eight and combined her love for singing with her work in the textile factory. She published her first album at the age of eighteen and, at the beginning of her career, moved to various towns such as Barcelona, ​​Piera, Pla de l'Estany and Girona. She was considered a troubadour. She was a European landmark until it was silenced in the 1980's.
In 1991 she founded a musical group called Els Trobadors together with his husband. She also participated in other groups such as Ara Va de BO, Ensemble Llull, etc.
She had always been known as Dolors Laffite but in 1996 she decided to take the name Maria Dolors Laffite. Finally, her final artistic name was Maria Laffite.
